The Lawn Tennis Association is an organisation bound together by a lifelong passion for the game.
As the governing body of British tennis they are united in our commitment to growing the sport throughout the country at all levels; from the grass roots of the game, to success on the international stage.
Since 1920 the LTA has worked in partnership with the AELTC to stage The Championships, Wimbledon. All profits from which are invested back into the game to help achieve British tennis’ goal of more players, better players!
They work with clubs, schools and local authorities to make tennis accessible, affordable and attractive to everyone, regardless of age or background. They judge themselves not only by the number of people enjoying tennis in Britain, but also by the standard at which they play.
The LTA supports its 2,500 affiliated clubs to inspire, motivate and encourage new and existing talent. You can find out where your nearest tennis club is and how you can get involved by searching in LTA Online.
More than 1,200 tennis venues are offering you the chance to pick up a racket and try the game for FREE, so whoever you are, however you play, whatever your age, Do More Than Just Watch. Find a play tennis venue near you.
For the growth of the game, the LTA is working hard to attract kids into tennis from a young age and give them a game that is relevant to them.
Mini Tennis does exactly that. Aimed at 4-11 year olds, kids learn to play with shorter rackets and lighter balls as they progress through a series of colour coded stages. See https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/ to find out more and to locate participating clubs.
Talented players are supported by our national and county performance teams, who ensure potential talent is spotted at a young age and provided with the best coaching and competitive opportunities.
With passion, dedication, competitive spirit, talent and a lot of hard work, you could realise your dream of playing against the best!
