The Ramblers' Association exists to facilitate, for the benefit of everyone, the enjoyment and discovery that walking outdoors can bring, and to promote respect for the life of the countryside.
Their aims are:
They work to further these aims through campaigning work, regular walking and campaigning events, and through their publications and information services.
They have 130,000 members in 423 groups across the country. Many members join simply to show their support for our work, but many others are also active in working and campaigning locally. Members also take part in an extensive program of organised walks, receive copies of the quarterly Rambler magazine and the Rambler's Yearbook and Accommodation Guide.
Contact them for details of membership and your local group contact.
The Ramblers' Information Service is a comprehensive source of advice and information about all aspects of walking. See their widely-praised website www.ramblers.org.uk and extensive publications list, or contact them by phone, fax or e-mail.
They are a democratic, voluntary organisation, registered as a charity (no.306089).
